ASK HER TWICE
check twice. care harder.
Built for women experiencing postpartum depression — and for women's health overall. We choose care before headlines: education, early support, and dignity — not sensational true crime.
Care before headlines
Postpartum depression and related maternal mental health conditions are medical — common, serious, and treatable. Too often they reach public attention only after tragedy becomes content. Behind those stories are women who needed support, not spectacle.
ASK HER TWICE exists to slow the scroll: to help partners, families, and friends notice changes, ask again when something feels off, and seek help early. Education is an act of care — for postpartum depression, postpartum mental health more broadly, and women's health overall.
What the data shows
Figures below are limited to verified public-health sources. We do not invent numbers.
About 1 in 8
women with a recent live birth reported symptoms of postpartum depression.

About 1 in 10
women of reproductive age in the U.S. reported symptoms suggesting a recent major depression.

Baby blues vs. PPD
Many new mothers experience temporary "baby blues." Postpartum depression is more intense and lasts longer — and it needs real care, not wait-and-see silence.

~17% (global estimate)
A widely cited global meta-analysis estimates postpartum depression prevalence around 17%. Treat this as a global research estimate — not a U.S. CDC surveillance figure.

Often undiagnosed
Advocacy sources note that nearly half of mothers with postpartum depression may go undiagnosed. This is a secondary estimate — use it cautiously alongside clinical screening, not as a CDC statistic.
